LMP Client v1.0.2
by admin on Apr.05, 2010, under Community
LMP Client v1.0.2 has been released, please download and install the latest version from the download page. This release introduces no major features to the client but fixes one issue where the LSP was not installed successfully under certain conditions, and introduces a new error reporting function so we can better track installation and program errors.
- Fixed issue where LowCap would sometimes fail to install (unexpected base provider IDs)
- Added feedback feature, which is also used for some program error reports (e.g. LowCap installation failures) — see the new icon located at the lower-left of the main window
LMP Client v1.0.1 (build 19) Update Pushed
by admin on Mar.24, 2010, under Community
LMP Client v1.0.1 build 19 has been uploaded. This releases adds several new exciting changes to the client as well as several bug fixes.
What’s new:
- Added support for Ultima Online: Stygian Abyss (note: pings reported while in the game shards menu are not accurate and do not reflect your actual in-game ping; they are just from your client to their shard servers, and do not traverse the LMP tunnel).
- Provisions for selecting game realms (and sometimes auto-detecting them) were added, which can be used to pick a zone closest to your realm.
- Gateway selection now takes place through “zones”, which are collections of gateways in the same data center.
- Client can still map a zone to a gateway if the master is down.
- Zones are auto-balanced; the gateway in the zone that is the best fit for taking a new user will be given to the next client.
- Re-sync and gateway pings now take place after a game session ends, instead of just on startup.
- Default games/gateways are no longer used — if a client cannot synchronize to the master at first start-up, they are told to fix their Internet connection and the client exits immediately.
- Amended tunnel rules for Champions Online to fix issue where a game session is not always tunneled.
- Added client-side check for current version that can be ignored by the user.
LMP Client v1.0.0 Ready for Live Use
by admin on Mar.08, 2010, under Community
After several months of internal testing, LMP Client version 1.0.0 is ready for use. This client automates the connection between our gateways and the client computer with support for games like World of Warcraft and Aion. This version is targeted towards the three most recent Windows releases: Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. This version will serve as the official client on launch – with periodic updates for compatibility and bug fixes. The client is considered stable.
What’s new:
- Support for World of Warcraft and Aion.
- Integration with LowerMyPing control panel (unified login credentials).
- Support for customized game “profiles.”
- Tray icon with quick launch context menu.
- Automatic game installation detection.
- Launch profiles and connect automatically via desktop shortcuts.
- Retrieves updated gateway list on program start-up for automatic detection of new gateway points.
- Proprietary “LowCap” LSP to tunnel game data over SSH (with optional support for FreeCap and Widecap — use of LowCap is highly recommended).
Updated: Added support for EVE and Champions Online to Build 16.
